Anne Arundel County, Maryland was established in 1650.

Thomas Cheney was born on March 1, 1669 in South River Hundred, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was the son of Richard and Eleanor Cheney.

He married Sarah Westall on August 19, 1697 at All Hallows Parish in Ann Arundel, Maryland. Sarah Westall was born on August 31, 1680 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She was the daughter of George Westall and Sarah Wade.

Their children included:
Sarah Cheney (1698-1765),
Ruth Cheney (1702),
Eleanor Cheney (1711-1738),
Thomas Cheney, Jr. (1721-1800), and
Rebecca Cheney Ricketts (1727, married Richard Ricketts).

 

All Hallows Church (The Brick Church), Anne Arundel County, Maryland records date back to 1682. It was an Anglican church. The building was constructed about 1710. The cemetery surrounds the church.
